Well, I went to Wikipedia and searched “Surfing”. Interesting! I learned a great deal like I would be considered a soul surfer – doing it for the pleasure of being out there which is great since I am lousy, old, live on the east coast, and truly, almost never get out there anymore. The article seemed quite well written and incredibly complete. There are a lot of people who jumped in on the writing of this article and it was kinda fun to look through and see who added meaningful or interesting content and who was just grousing. The big surf companies groused a lot about logo use – they want us to paste stickers all over everything but we have to pay for the privilege to advertise. Separate issue for me!
I admit that I’m still not a huge a fan of Wikipedia for kid’s researching but it is great for a quick overview to learn a little about a topic.
