In regards to the 71/2 Things, I would have to say that number 71/2 is the most important to me. Play! How else do we truly learn? I can read, listen, take notes, etc, and I will admittedly learn but I know how to learn that way, however…when I play I really absorb what I am learning. I don’t know if it is required or a “stretch exercise” but the first thing I did after signing up for this page is start playing with avatars and headers. It was fun and now I have “learned” how to do something new. It was painless for the most part <wink>!  (But it also took me off task and that concerns me.)

Kids are no different. They learn by doing but I must admit I have some reservations about the learning they do with computers in front of them. So, I have to learn to use Thing #6 – “use technology to your advantage” in order to help them learn by “playing”. It is all about engaging the students at their level and technology is their toy.
